SKR och SKL International har tillsammans med starka lokala partners under många år samarbetat med Duhok i Irak. Samarbetet har fokus på social sammanhållning, barns rättigheter och effektivisering av den lokala administrationen - med fokus på utbildning och sociala frågor.

Som en utveckling av samarbetet mellan SKR och Duhok har UNDP beviljat finansiering för en utveckling av inkluderande lärmiljöer. Det första nyhetsbrevet har nu publicerats.

Duhok Inclusive Education Partnership (DIEP) is a partnership between SALAR, Duhok Governorate, General Directorate of Education in Duhok and General Directorate of Care and Social Development in Duhok, funded by the European Union and implemented by the United Nations Development Programme.

DIEP will co-develop an approach to inclusive education in Duhok in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. This will be achieved by building the capacity of teachers, physical improvements in two pilot schools and strengthening governance and strategic partnerships.

The long-standing partnership around inclusive education in Duhok will be strengthened by building a peer-to-peer exchange of knowledge between experts, teachers and decision makers in Duhok and in Sweden.
