INLOG Regional Workshop in Jordan: Advancing Inclusive Local Governance in the MENA Region
The second regional workshop of the Inclusive Local Governance (INLOG) Programme was successfully held in Amman, Jordan. Over the course of four days, participants from across the region gathered to discuss key themes such as gender mainstreaming, inclusive planning processes, and the continued development of their in-country work as part of the programme.
Although the Syrian delegation was unfortunately unable to attend, the workshop offered a valuable opportunity for peer learning and exchange. Participants presented progress made in their national projects, each focusing on a theme relevant to inclusive local governance. These presentations sparked insightful discussions and fostered a strong spirit of collaboration among the delegations.
The workshop was formally opened by Ryan Knox, Managing Director of SALAR International, and Anna Rosendhal, Head of Development Cooperation at the Embassy of Sweden in Amman. The four-day workshop concluded with a well-attended networking event at the Swedish Dialogue Institute for the MENA Region, where Director Ann Måwe welcomed the delegation and facilitated exchanges with external stakeholders.
The workshop days in Amman provided not only a space for knowledge sharing and reflection, but also helped define the next steps for the Community of Practice, as participants prepare to deepen their efforts in promoting inclusive, participatory local governance in their respective contexts.
