Join #EURegionsWeek: Start Municipal Partnerships with Ukraine

Be part of this year’s European Week of Regions and Cities on 13–15 October 2025) and discover how your municipality can collaborate with Ukrainian municipalities on the interactive session “Start Municipal Partnerships with Ukraine: build resilience and solidarity”.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale war, many municipalities across the EU have partnered with Ukrainian counterparts to show solidarity. Today, these partnerships foster mutual learning: Ukrainian municipalities gain insights into EU integration opportunities, while European cities learn how to strengthen crisis management and resilience.

The session is organised by SALAR and SALAR International in cooperation with the Cities4Cities initiative within the Polaris Programme, and the NGO Stand with Ukraine.

Dynamic, interactive session designed for experience-sharing and networking. Participants will engage in small-group discussions exploring barriers, opportunities, and first steps for starting a municipal partnership with Ukraine.

The European Week of Regions and Cities is the EU’s largest annual event dedicated to local development. Organised by the DG Regio and the European Committee of the Regions, it brings together three days of high-level political discussions, practical workshops, participatory sessions, and presentations of opportunities for municipalities and regions.
