Request for Proposals: Communication Lead for Programme in Ukraine
SALAR International is searching for a Communications Lead for the programme Waste Management for Ukraine, implemented by SALAR International in collaboration with Avfall Sverige.
Waste Management for Ukraine (WM4U) supports Ukraine’s transition towards a modern, sustainable and EU-aligned municipal waste management system. The Programme focuses on strengthening national policies, multilevel governance and the operational capacity of local self-government bodies and clusters of hromadas.
We are now seeking a Communications Lead to support the Programme’s implementation in Ukraine by planning and delivering high-quality external communication in close cooperation with the Ukrainian team and international partners in Sweden.
Key responsibilities include:
- coordinating all external communication activities of the Programme in Ukraine;
- contributing to the development and implementation of the communication strategy;
- managing the Programme’s website and digital communication channels;
- producing content, including news, articles, press materials and visual outputs;
- supporting the communication of events and public activities;
- liaising with partners, contractors and media;
- ensuring Programme visibility and compliance with donor communication requirements.
Required qualifications:
- higher education in communications, journalism, PR or a related field;
- at least 5 years of relevant professional experience;
- experience working with the public sector or international development projects;
- excellent written and spoken Ukrainian and English;
- strong coordination skills and the ability to communicate complex reforms clearly.
Location and Duration
The Expert should be based in Kyiv, Ukraine.
The position is full time for 12 months with a possibility of extension.
