During 2025, the WM4U programme has begun announcing tenders for consulting assignments. The tenders that are expected to be announced during the year of 2025 are:
Revision of Regional Waste Management Plans (RWMPs) – Q2
The Regional Waste Management Plans in four selected regions will have to be revised and updated following the new National Waste Management Plan, guidelines and recent EU developments. A tender will be announced in the second quarter of 2025.
Baseline study on Extended Producers Responsibility (EPR) – Q2/Q3.
EPR for Packaging waste and Waste for Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and Batteries is under way already in Ukraine. Though the regulatory framework is evolving rapidly. The first step to develop the system in Ukraine is to do a baseline study of the current situation to identify the starting points for EPR. The tender will be announced in the second or third quarter of 2025.
Guidelines and training for waste management planning – Q3
Current guidelines for local waste management planning in Ukraine need to be revised and updated following the new National Waste Management Plan, Regional Waste Management Plans as well recent EU developments such as more ambitious targets for municipal waste (separate collection, re-use, recycling, reduced landfilling, etc.). A tender will be announced in the third quarter of 2025.
